JONATHAN FITAS’ “LEAP OF FAITH”

The New Album of French Composer is out now

“Some projects follow you long before they exist. Leap of Faith is one of them.
For years, I composed at night, letting emotions gather quietly without knowing how to name them. Eventually, there came a moment where the only option was to jump.

This EP grew out of an inner need: to accept change, fragility, uncertainty — and to turn them into a place of listening. I wanted to create music you can breathe in, where tension doesn’t explode, but slowly transforms you.

Piano, strings, synthesizers — simple materials, carrying that intimate movement between stillness and vastness. Some pieces unfold in layers, others hold on a single melodic thread, almost fragile. All of them speak of the moment I felt something in my life had to shift.

Flow carries the nostalgia of youth. Radiance is a brighter piece, almost like a prayer offered to what we can’t control. Searching for Tora is deeply personal, written after losing our beloved cat — a piece that took time to reveal itself, a small ritual of mourning.

This record was also shaped by a new place: our home in Normandy, which became a studio, a refuge, a creative residency. It’s where Maison Mujō emerged — in the quiet, in the woods, in a rhythm far from Paris. Living here changed how I work; it helped me hear more clearly what I had been trying to express for years.

To me, Leap of Faith is exactly that:
the decision to trust yourself enough to leap.

Thank you to everyone who listens to this EP with the same attention I put into creating it. I hope it will accompany you through your own transitions — whether they are gentle, difficult, or simply necessary.”

Jon.
